Meet Brendan

Hi there! I’m a proud native New Yorker, born and raised in the heart of Manhattan. Growing up in such an exciting city, I always enjoyed exploring the different neighborhoods, checking out museums, and discovering hidden gems in parts of the city I hadn’t yet seen.

I graduated with a B.A. in Theatre from Binghamton University, and over the years, I’ve had the chance to work on a variety of film, TV, and theater projects. Along the way, I’ve taken on pretty much every actor’s “survival job,” including a lot of temp work and catering. By 2013, though, I’d reached a point where I was ready for a change, so I decided to take the test for my tour guide license. As an actor, I’ve always loved telling stories, entertaining, and keeping an audience engaged – and those same skills are exactly what make a great tour guide. You could say that leading a tour is like putting on a one-person show!

In preparing for the test, I discovered just how much I loved learning about New York’s incredible history. Now, I’m lucky enough to share that knowledge and passion with others, and after all these years, there’s always something new to discover and share with my guests.

When I’m not giving tours, I’m still pursuing acting gigs. I also love catching Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, and I’m always excited to visit the amazing museums we have here in the city.

Here are some of the tours I offer:

  • Central Park - Walk the south end of Central Park beginning outside the iconic Plaza hotel and ending at Strawberry Fields.   Come discover what many residents of Manhattan consider to be their backyard and learn what it took to build one of the largest parks in NYC

  • Greenwich Village, Meatpacking District, and the High Line - Start out in Greenwich Village, one of the few remaining parts of Manhattan which feels like Old New York.    We'll walk down beautiful tree lined streets, lined with townhouses and brownstones.   On the way to the highline you'll see the meatpacking district, home to 200 slaughterhouses at the turn of the 20th century, now one of the most trendy neighborhoods in Manhattan.   Discover how the highline went from being a freight line to one of the most beautiful parks in Manhattan.

  • Brooklyn Bridge/Dumbo - Walk across one of the most recognizable bridges in the world.   Learn the story of why the bridge was built and how it was constructed.   Enjoy spectacular photo ops of the Manhattan skyline.   The tour ends in Dumbo, once an industrial neighborhood, now one of the trendiest parts of Brooklyn.

  • Battery Park/Financial District - We'll start at the southern most tip of lower Manhattan and explore the oldest neighborhood in Manhattan which was originally settled by the Dutch in 1625.   A  mixture of iconic sites with some hidden gems.

  • Custom tours tailored to your interests (2-8 hours in length)

Let me know if you’d like to explore the city with me—I’d love to show you around!
